Knjiga analizira ulogu Zagrebačkog zbora (danas Zagrebački velesajam) u komunikaciji hrvatskog gospodarstva s gospodarstvima europskih zemalja između dvaju svjetskih ratova. Koristeći arhivsko gradivo, periodiku, filmske zapise i literaturu, autor daje historiografski pogled na djelovanje institucije za organizaciju međunarodnih velesajmova koji su se u razdoblju od 1922. do 1940. godine profilirali u jedno od ključnih mjesta poslovanja i razmjene poslovnih informacija u Kraljevini SHS / Jugoslaviji. Praćenjem utjecaja različitih trendova na velesajamske manifestacije u četiri karakteristična razdoblja (1922.-1925. / 1926.-1929. / 1930.-1934. / 1935.-1940.) ukazuje se na složenost političkih i privrednih gibanja u međuratnoj Europi. Analizom intenziteta prisutnosti inozemnih izlagača na sajmovima u Zagrebu te istodobnom usporedbom poslovanja s međunarodnim sajmovima u Ljubljani i Beogradu, knjiga nudi odgovor na pitanje kakvu je ulogu Zagrebački zbor imao u nadmetanjima europskih sila za gospodarsku i političku dominaciju u Kraljevini Jugoslaviji tijekom 1930-ih godina.
